As I said in the last entry, we have Iguanas.
We also have crocodiles. They are salt water crocodiles and there are quite a few of them.
There is a restaurant called the Lazy Croc that is located on a lagoon where you watch the crocodiles as you have dinner.
Sometimes they watch you.
There is a lagoon close by our condo complex where it used to be that some of the local youngsters would go with a dead chicken tied to a rope and entice the crocodiles out of the water. They would then charge the tourists to take pictures. However, the crocodiles got used to coming out of the water for food and started to wander into the local neighborhoods. When some of the pet dogs came up missing, they made the kids stop this practice.
Now, there are plans to fill part of the lagoon and build condos around it. The crocodiles have to go.
There is a crew here from National Geographic that is trapping the crocodile and relocating them.
This is a small one. We have seen them catching crocodiles at least three times this big. We are not sure where they are taking them but it is comforting to know they are not going to be quite so close.
