Last weekend we had a “gathering” at our palapa by the pool. Everyone in our little complex was invited. Beer was provided (by someone) and we were each supposed to bring something to fix on the grill.
About 12:30 they stated the charcoal (there are no gas grills here and the charcoal is homemade- although I don’t know how they do it. They also burn dried coconut shells which are almost better than the charcoal.) People started showing up around 1:00.

There always seems to be a computer somewhere. This one was being use to listen to one of the football games being played that afternoon.
Since they told us all to bring our meat for the grill, Gail and I had gone to the store and found some brats. We thought, like in Arkansas, everyone would bring hotdogs, hamburgers, and brats. We found out that EVERYONE, except us, brought lobster. And, not only did they bring lobster for themselves but they all brought extra. They put it on the grill in tin foil for a very few minutes and whala! A fantastic picnic.
