WEATHER REPORT

Last night about ten o’clock the wind kicked up and is still blowing pretty good.  The weather station says 22 mph with gusts up to 38 mph.  We got a little rain but not much.  This may be a result of Hurricane Tomas coming close.  However, although it is overcast with clouds, the sun is shining and the temperature is 78 degrees this morning at 7:00 am.
An interesting thing is that our condo has no glass in the windows.  There is a screen with a wooden frame on the inside of the window.  It is hinged on one side to allow it to swing open.  It is held closed by a piece of wood that is nailed to the window frame and turns to release or hold the screen closed.
On the outside of the window are wooden louvered blinds.  If you push one to open it, about three or four, that are louvered together, open at the same time.  When you close them they do not fit together air tight.  This allows the wind to get through the blinds and sounds like it is blowing a lot harder than it really is.
There is also a palm tree right outside the bedroom window that brushes against the wooden blinds when the wind blows.
Overall I thought we were going to get a real storm last night but it really did not amount to anything.
