There are more cars and taxi-vans on the island than I thought there would be. There are probably fifty or so cars but there are several hundred golf carts. The majority of the golf carts run on gasoline. From what I have seen there are two gas stations on the island, both run by the same guy/company.
We read that the price of gas in Northwest Arkansas has risen significantly since we left. So, to make you feel better, here is a picture of a gas pump in San Pedro, Belize. (Remember the price is in Belize dollars so you have to cut it in half to get US dollars.)
